Osteopathy
We take a whole-body approach to your health. This enables us to get to the root cause of your problem as opposed to trying to mask the symptoms.
Osteopathic treatment involves using a range of therapeutic techniques including stretching, joint manipulation, deep tissue massage and muscle relaxation techniques.
Effective management of your condition is essential. We do this by combining Osteopathic technique with Pilates, yoga and movement meditation to ensure that we tick all the boxes along the road to recovery.

Prenatal Care
Pregnancy is a time of change for a woman's body, and although a growing bump is the most expected of these, there are other changes which occur that can catch you off-guard. At our clinic we can help you to overcome some of the challenges you may face every step of the way.
Common sites of pain are the lower back, pelvis and hips. This is often down to the softening of ligaments and changing in posture which leads to excessive pressure being placed on the joints and tendons.
Osteopathy can help to diagnose, treat and manage the problem in a gentle and effective manner.

Postnatal Care
Regaining control over your body and returning to fitness is essential after giving birth. Restoring strength and vitality in the core and pelvic floor muscles ensures that you reduce the likelihood of experiencing pain or discomfort.
Osteopathy can help to correct asymmetry in muscles, restrictions in joints and overall strength, leading to a much improved ability to use your body in a pain-free manner.
We combine gentle stretching, massage, postural correction techniques and joint mobilisation with Pilates and yoga to provide you with 360 degree care.

Injury Rehabilitation
Certain injuries can go unsolved if not attended to in an efficient manner. It is important to learn about the stages of body-tissue healing so that you can make the right choices when it comes to rehabilitation.
All to often individuals experience the pain of re-injuring an already damaged muscle, tendon, ligament or joint. This can push back recovery time by several weeks.
At our clinic we combine education with hands on osteopathy, pilates and yoga to formulate a rehabilitation programme that is tailored to your individual needs.

Acupuncture
Having acupuncture is not just about activating the points. It’s about looking at your lifestyle and guiding you towards something more balanced. It’s about peeling back the layers to get to the root of a problem which will usually always be multi-faceted.
On your first appointment Amelia will take a very detailed health history. This is a history of how you reached this place today because whilst we can all end up with bad digestion, we get there for different reasons and therefore need different treatments to change that.
The most common problems people come to us with are:
-
Physical Pain (muscular/skeletal)
-
Fertility Support (female/male)
-
Anxiety and Stress related issues (we can absolutely stop people having panic attacks with the power of needles)
-
Burn Out
-
Depression
-
Headaches and Migraines
-
Insomnia
-
Allergies
Acupuncture is wonderful for many things including promoting relaxation, boosting your energy levels, improving your immune system, encouraging good sleeping habits, lifting your mood, aiding your digestion and generally keeping you healthy. We have many clients who use Amelia like a fire fighter who don’t have specific problems but live high intensity lives during the week and/or party hard at the weekend and come to Amelia to reverse the damage.
